I am above all things a Hedonist, and though I have no name for my philosophy, it is basically Hedonism on a universal scale. Wonder, love, beauty, pleasure, joy; pursued and shared ethically and compassionately, these are all paths to God. To experience life with passion and an open, loving heart is to be truly alive, to use whatever talents you have to bring beauty and happiness into the world is to share in the ecstasy of creation. Obtaining pleasure and happiness for oneself is a wonderful thing, giving the same to others is a path to holiness. These are the basic tenets of my philosophy, and I will not expound further upon it here, as I am sure most people who read this will not be interested. Any who are interested are more than welcome to ask, I always love talking about it, arguing philosophical points and conundrums. For the purpose of explaining my journal, this is more than enough background.

I also tend to be misanthropic, not because I think humanity is inherently bad, but because it so seldom lives up to its capacity for good, preferring instead to wallow in misery, suffering and degradation, not to mention the sick schadenfreude of inflicting the same on others.

If you call me a pervert, I am likely to take it as a compliment, so be forewarned of probable salacious content.

My journal is now almost exclusively friends-only, because apparently there are those who are disturbed by my worldview. Some people seem to have a real problem distinguishing between their right to disagree, which is absolute and something I will always defend, and discrimination based on that disagreement, which is wrong and something I will fight to the death. Why such people can never seem to understand that they have the option of simply not reading that which offends them is beyond me, but obviously it is a problem.
